Favorite Oscar 2012 Jewelry Looks on the Red Carpet
Posted on February 27, 2012
It's our favorite sport -- Red Carpet live tweeting while we swoon or curse from the jewelry choices. Sure, most women look for the clothes but for us - it's the rocks. Or lack of them that keeps me going all night. This year's Red Carpet had enough to keep me going -- and of course there were enough naked necks to make me mad. But here are some of our favorite looks. I tried to find more, really I did. Hats off to www.JustJared.com for always having the photos and credits super fast. We clipped most of these images from him -- with much thanks and total props.       My Favorite look for it's brazen fun of it all ... Busy Philipps chose these Irene Neuwirth boulder opal earrings for her fun on the red carpet supporting her pal Michelle Williams. I... Read More

Posted on March 31, 2011
The Palladium Alliance has been busy gearing up for another round of super promotions for their cool, white metal. And when they start promotin' they do it in style! Their first initiative in their two-year promo campaign was to work with British fashion designer, Vivienne Westwood. Dame Vivienne to you and me. The collection was shown to the press two weeks ago but officially launched yesterday in her new flagship store in West Hollywood. The party was a celeb-filled smash but the jewels were just as fabulous. We can't wait to see them in person. They're a walk on the wild side ... with tamer pieces to follow. Read all about it on The HuffingtonPost.com:   images captured from HuffingtonPost.com -- read all about the party there.... Read More

But there were some highlights, and here are my favorites and links to some great jewelry bloggers for their round ups.   Natalie Portman in ruby beaded tassels by Tiffany.     Marisa Tomei in Van Cleef & Arpels earrings   Anne Hathaway in Tiffany diamonds     Jennifer Hudson in her favorite Neil Lane diamonds.     Amy Adams' Cartier emerald and diamond wrap necklace and a 30.75-carat carved emerald and diamond... Who deserves to be a Design Star?
Posted on July 12, 2010
I can't get this article out of my mind: it published weeks ago but I keep thinking about it. Being in the business of helping designers -- both newcomers and those that have arrived -- I ruminate on the topic a lot.The New York Times' Eric Wilson covered the glamorous and self-promoting 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards event on June 7th. The tenor of the article is "who deserves stardom?" And it addresses the age old tug of war between talent and fame; longevity vs. newness.                    He writes: It is, after all, hard to say who has real talent and staying power or merely the ability to sell themselves effectively, which is why, at the Council of Fashion Designers of...
