It’s our favorite sport — Red Carpet live tweeting while we swoon or curse from the jewelry choices. Sure, most women look for the clothes but for us – it’s the rocks. Or lack of them that keeps me going all night.
This year’s Red Carpet had enough to keep me going — and of course there were enough naked necks to make me mad.
But here are some of our favorite looks. I tried to find more, really I did. Hats off to www.JustJared.com for always having the photos and credits super fast. We clipped most of these images from him — with much thanks and total props.
My Favorite look for it’s brazen fun of it all … Busy Philipps chose these Irene Neuwirth boulder opal earrings for her fun on the red carpet supporting her pal Michelle Williams. I love that she’s just looking fab and not “trying to look” Oscars.
Green was a major Red Carpet trend this year — and last — with emeralds popping up often. I’ve got to say — I’d like to see other gems too but emeralds do show up well. Tina Fey wore great sapphire earrings that for some reason were hard to “read” in photos. Sad but true.
Octavia Spencer wowed us at the Golden Globes with her bold earrings choice and she’s done it again here with these great diamond dangles.
Rose Byrne looks great in these earrings — they make you look twice and isn’t that what great jewelry is supposed to do!
Great diamond earrings for Glenn Close.
Sorry but it was the bracelet that we died for …. who cares for the rest of the look?
These earrings are bold and beautiful and outside the norm… so we LOVE THEM!! Lorraine Schwartz on Viola Davis — great drama for the Red Carpet.
Lorraine Schwartz on George Clooney’s armcandy, Stacy Keibler.
These sapphire earrings must be fabulous in person — I only wish they photographed better. Is it a problem with sapphires? I wonder.
THE CUFF!!!!!!!!!!! And 3 rings. And. the. cape. Favorite look of the night.
Ladylike diamond glamour — first of three takes on the riviére necklace.
These are movie star diamonds — a riviére necklace and large flower earrings.
This is the necklace of the night — a modern or redux on the vintage riviére necklace. A great thing to do to some diamonds.
Bulgari diamonds fit Dita Von Teese to a tee.
I love these earrings on Virgina Madsen –these seem like earrings I know or have seen at Couture show. Dramatic, attention-getting and very lovely. And the green gem is very eyecatching, too. LOVE!
Bold necklace choice for Olivia Wilde — wonder who’s it is.
Anna Pacquin wore Wilfredo Rosado jewels to the Elton John Oscar Party. I think these are a brave, colorful choice. Wonder if she would have worn them on the actual Red Carpet? That damn carpet seems to dumb down a lot of choices. These are bold, colorful and interesting. Maybe we can learn to dress like this for “regular” eveningwear rather than worrying about “redcarpetwear/”
